2025 Winners

The Patrington Mini Medics launched a community-driven initiative to promote life-saving skills by fundraising for a defibrillator and first aid training in their local area. Motivated by the alarming statistic that over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur annually in the UK—with fewer than 1 in 10 surviving—they aimed to empower people of all ages with emergency response knowledge.  Through a variety of creative fundraising activities—including bake sales, jumble sales, car boot sales, bingo nights, sponsored bike rides, and collection buckets at local businesses—they successfully raised £3,100. Additional funds were donated to Hull 4 Heroes, the British Legion, and The Lucky Hedgehog Hospital.

Beyond fundraising, they actively engaged their community by distributing informational leaflets, hosting quiz sessions at care homes, and conducting litter picks. They also met with their local parish council and MP to advocate for First Aid and CPR training in all schools nationwide.

Their efforts culminated in a defibrillator being installed and successful first aid sessions for both children and adults, leaving a lasting impact on community safety and awareness.
