Lifestyle is Humberside Police’s longest-running early intervention initiative, inspiring young people since 1989. Each year, we strive to increase participation and empower youth to make a positive impact in their communities.

Lifestyle reaches deep into our communities, providing a platform to share our messages and those of our partners and sponsors. Local officers visit nearly 400 schools annually, offering information on community improvement and discussing Company Challenges set by sponsors. Throughout the project, we highlight the efforts of our Lifestyle teams and the supporters who contribute to its success.

Since 1989, Lifestyle has inspired our young people to make a difference in their communities with a range of innovative, fun-filled, and inspiring projects during their summer holidays. Every year, we meet young people determined to improve their neighbourhoods, demonstrating great organization and teamwork to achieve their Lifestyle aims. From awareness campaigns to cleaning up public spaces, raising money for charities, supporting community centres, creating memorials, leaving Kindness Rocks, raising money for defibrillators, helping out at care homes, road safety campaigns, and donating care packages – the list of young people’s amazing summer actions is humbling.

New for 2025: Operation Lifestyle

Operation Lifestyle invites 16-18 year olds to volunteer and campaign in their communities. This initiative will allow young people to develop their skills and gain valuable experience to help with future employment and academic pursuits. Running during the October half term, the project will work in partnership with Humberside Further Education institutions to provide opportunities for young people to improve their communities and kick-start their careers.
